Chain cover stud question
I'm reassembling/rebuilding an engine that I purchased in pieces. The engine is a 74 2.7L with updated oil-fed chain tensioners.
On the left chain housing there are two holes threaded for 6mm studs, but the updated chain housing covers have holes that are sized for 8mm studs. How do people normally handle these two studs? I'm tempted to just use a 6mm bolt of the appropriate length, but I'm curious if there is a standard part that is 6mm on one end and 8mm on the other. Last edited by billd; 02-26-2006 at 10:15 PM.. |

74 2.0L motor? I have seen some motors that use two bolts instead of studs, do you know what year the chain housing that you are using is from?
