Well Home Depot was a bust, but I confirmed that this bolt is a _14mm_ diameter, NOT 16mm. So the search goes on for 14mmx1.5mmx55mm...

I can get the 14X1.5 bolt for anyone who needs it. They are rather plentiful up here as is just about any metric fastner you want. I am at the wharehouse at least once a week!

Sounds like Chris Martin and I both need one, plus a spare for the inevitable "oops" during the grinding. Sounds like 3, unless Chris Bennet also needs one?

We do need to be sure the bolt is threaded all the way from the head to the end.

Okay, I will pick up some 14x1.5x55 fully threaded bolts tomorrrow. I can't find my spare pulley so I hope these are the right ones.

I finally got the pulley off, thanks for the ideas guys. I made a 'tool' out of a piece of 1/8" steel with a nut welded to the center. Long bolt inserted in the center popped the pulley off.

Now I need to find TDC again...

Interesting Chris, I thought about something like this using the factory attachment bolt. Like maybe cuttind down a worn large punch. Can you take a pic?

Same concept of the Porsche tool, but it grabs the bolt welded to the plate, rather than the threads of the actual pulley.

I ground the threads off the last inch or so of the through bolt, similar to the Porsche tool so not to harm the crank threads, just a little insurance. Once the center bolt bottoms inside the crank it pops the pulley off.

The Porsche tool takes off the pulley and damper as one. Those parts are balanced together. If you do separate them using something like Chris' tool just be sure to mark them some way beforehand.

I'll measure the actual tool tonight, but I think you've got something wrong. The pulley bolt is an M14, but the tool threads into the pulley, and i'll double check, but I think it's 16mm..... you don't want to thread into the crank, you thread into the pulley, and push against the crank........

I can't find the broken puller, but measuring the pulley bolt, and the inside threaded part of the pulley it's obvious, you need an M16 bolt. If you want me to take any pictures of the pulley let me know.
