Graphal coating on 3.8 RSR pistons
Does anyone know anybody who offers a service and has been able to sucessfully reapply the Graphal coating on 3.8 RSR and similar Mahle piston skirts? Or are these otherwise perfect 3.8 RSR pistons I have where the coating has gotten thin toast?

Calico Coatings does JE's for me all the time. You just want to specify minimum build-up as to not affect clearances, although you might still have to lightly hone the cylinders to ensure the proper piston to cylinder clearance.
