Solex cams
Hi,
I've been offered some Solex cams and I'm interested in hearing people's opinions on their suitability for my engine rebuild. I am having a stock 2.4T engine rebuilt with original 2.4 crank 90mm Hi comp JE 10.5:1 pistons running on UK Hi octane fuel 90mm Mahle cylinders 2.4 cylinder heads ported to 36mm inlet 32 outlet either S cams or these Solex cams Rejetted Zeniths with 36mm venturis recurved stock 2.4T distributor MSD ignition and blaster coil I heard lots of good things about the Solex cams. What are people's opinions on how well they match up with the other components. Thanks in advance for any comments and advice. Rob. |

I built a 2.8 with 9.5 cr and Solex cams, 2.7S heads, PMO carbs, excellent performance.
Solex is smooth, not peaky like S cams. Bruce |

I’ve used both on my race car. I would recommend the Solex cams on either a Street car or race car. S cams are just too anemic below about 5,000RPM.
