993TT Intermediate Shaft Plug

Hello,

On my 964 engine there is an aluminum plug in the end of the intermediate shaft that is retained by a snap ring. The plug has a tapped hole in the center for ease of removal. (photo attached)

On the 993TT, however, this plug is used to drive the turbo oil return pump.

My question is for those who have taken a 993TT engine apart: How is the plug retained in the bore of a 993TT? Is it a press fit, as compared to the 964 which uses a loose slip fit and the small internal snap ring?

I'm assuming that the 993TT "plug" is held firmly since it is responsible for driving the turbo oil return pump...

Thanks,
Brock
