Question Will '69 2.0 911T pistons work in a '65 911 2.0?

Will '69 2.0 911T pistons work in a '65 911 2.0? Just a quick question. Thanks

Yes, but the CR is down..

This will mean less power and the car may feel gutless with the Solex cams..

Kind regards

I'd be concerned about piston-valve clearance. I haven't done such a change, but T's had significantly less radical cams then the Solex's.

Talking More info

So when selecting a piston...what exactly should I look for.. so I don't have a "gutless" engine? I am rebuilding my '65 engine as it was...with solex carbs and as original as I can. I don't want to lose compression..but when I find pistons for sale they always vary so much year...S, E, T. What other pistons other than the original '65's are similar? Thanks everyone for your time.

Hello again.

The piston you need is the 911L style.

However, I do know that the OEM manufacturer, Kolbenschmidt made replacement sets which had the higher CR and the bigger valve cut outs for the S/T size valves.

I have one such set on the shelf..if you want it Pm me..I'm in Uk so you may find them cheaper locally..

Kind regards
David

I have a NOS set of KS (Kolbenschmidt ) pistons and cylinders and various sets of "S" pistons which I'm packing up to sell. Let me know if you could use some.

I also have a set of 2.0 Liter L pistons that I no longer need. I tried sending you a PM but your inbox is full. If you are interested let me know.
