chain housing studs are loose?

In the process of putting the covers on the chain housing I noticed that a couple of the studs would turn when I turned the nut. How do I go about fixing this? Do I need to buy new studs are could I use some kind of glue or sealant?

When I took my engine apart I noticed that the last time it was assembled sealant was used b/t cover and housing. But Wayne's says to put the gasket on dry. Are there differing opinions on this?

Yes there are different opinions but the factory says to put them on dry. If you have warped covers they may not seal dry. I've tried it both ways and had no leaks either way.
