993 heads possible on 3.0 & 3.2 ??
Hello to all,
Someone ever thougt about trying the possibility of 993 heads (with hydraulic valvelifters...) that will fit on 3.0 and 3.2 engines ? Think of all the advantages as no more valve checking, etc. etc. Or will the chains not line up with the longblock, or else ? Hope to hear from some technical experimental Pelican(s)... HI try the head stud spacing for a start, the 964 heads will not fit!!, and changing the cam feed pipe/adapter to the cam box??

I am not sure if it was andial or some other socal shop but I remember hearing about someone doing this. A normal 3.0/3.2 was used which had the headstuds spaced out to accept 100mm cylinders from the 964/993 engines. At that point the heads will go right on but as mike said there is the trouble of the oil feed, perhaps fitting 993 chain boxes would solve that? Not sure, I would think some machining might be necessary.
