Question Mainshaft seal? have you seen this?

I remember somoenelse posting in reference to mainshaft seals as to some being better than others..couldnt find the post again. The reason I am asking is because I noticed an Oil leak coming from the "spy hole" in the transmission (on the drivers side), and the lower hole between the tranny and engine.
I replaced my mainshaft seal w/ an Orange one from pelican.. seemed to be good.
I did notice when I had the clutch off that someone before me had pryed hard to get one out at one point. The outside perimeter of the case where the seal fits was scarred, however where the mainshaft seal Actually seals it was smooth and clean.
Could this new mainshaft seal be leaking???
How can I fix this?

Any of you had this problem or similar?
