? re: Chain Tensioner Upgrade

OK, taking the plunge to upgrade my 70 S to newer, pressure fed tensioners. Checked Wayne's book and did search, both unsuccessful. Got oil line adapter for rt side oil line (which is simply an extension of the fitting on the crankcase). My problem is that the mating surface of the adapter (that touches the crankcase) is beveled, not flat. Does a crush washer go between the case and the adapter, like it did between the original fitting(which accepts the oil line/ferrule) and the case?
