Question How to remove rear bumper???

Does anyone have pictures or diagram on how to remove the rear bumper off of a 85 Carrera? Are the nuts on the rear bumper shock holding the entire bumper or are there hidden nuts under the rubber gaurd as well.

There are 4 nuts holding the rear bumper to the bumper shocks, in addition to the rubber accordian on the 2 sides.

The nuts are hidden under the rubber strips.

Rear Bumper removal...

John,

There are 2 bolts and a nut that hold the shock bumper to the body and 2 nuts secure the bumper to the shock bumper. If you have the big rubber bumperette like the SC's, you have to remove that too. Then repeat the process on the other side. Or remove the whole bumper assembly by undoing the 4 mounting bolts and 2 nuts (plus the tiny bolts for the rubber accordions).

Don't forget to disconnect the license plate wiring during removal. Good luck.

TD
