I am busy refurbishing the cylinder heads from my 930. I have removed all of the valve guides and now I am cleaning and polishing the ports.
Does anybody have any good tips regarding widening and gas flowing the ports or the choice of tools to remove material and finally polish? Any tips or advice greatly appreciated... Best regards Steve |

Hi Steve;
Have you done a search on this forum for "porting". I think that it will turn up a bunch of information for you. The subject has been investigated in detail a number of times. I've done a bunch of research on NA heads, but don't know a whole lot about the requirements for 930 heads. Welcome aboard! ![]()

Is there some reason you need to reduce the velocity of the air going into your intake ports (which is what widening them will do)?

Hi Chris,
I read the articles you linked they are very interesting but as far as I could see they only talked about a normally aspirated motor. I am not sure how much of what is in the articles applies to a turbocharged motor? Regards Steve |
