ok, dumb question. on-engine thermostat.
is there a correct orientation on re-installing that thing? i didnt note any difference when i yanked it out to change the o-ring. i made the assumtion that the slots in the tstat needed to sit at the correct "elevation" as the two hole in the block? am i wrong?

The flange w/mounting holes is not symmetrical - you can't install but only one way.
