930 intake manifold gaskets
Should I install them dry or use something on them to insure an air tight seal.

I thought so thats how ive installed them in the past. I am going to install my new insulators tonight and button down the intake.
I remember awhile back reading that they were being dressed with something special to really seal them up , maybe someone else will chime in.

Hi Chappy
The key to sealing a turbo intake is to use the best gaskets possible. The factory used a CIS manifold gasket that leaves allot to be desired. We offer a far better set of gaskets to seal the turbo intake. Specially designed for high performance turbos with 37mm intake ports. We always seal the gaskets with ThreeBond 1104. 1104 in conjunction with WR gaskets and prevailing torque nuts allows great sealing with less pressure on the phenolic blocks. Turbo exhaust manifolds have a flange that inserts into the exhaust port. Stock gaskets work fine and no sealant is necessary.

If the exhaust flange is flat the dry gasket should work fine.

What do you recommend torquing the prevailing torque nuts to.
18lbs or less.
