Air Sensor Plate Switch

I didn't have any luck with my last post so I will try under this heading. Where is the air sensor plate switch located and how can you access it for service? An ohm test on the terminals at the green connector on the front (side toward the front of the car) indicate that the switch is not opening when the sensor plate is raised. Any advice welcome.

The items you seek to adjust/trouble shoot are in subassembly 19 in the first figure; you will likely need to lift items 1 (fuel distributor) and 7 (airflow sensor) together off the air box to gain sufficient access. In the process of doing this, you may discover that the item 24 in the second figure (foam seal - PN 911.110.394.02) may require replacing.

Yeah, it is a real pia, to reach , but you can get at it , try unplugging it and see if your car runs then. . With a lot of patience, you can replace it with out removing the air flow meter, but it is a little trying
Good luck

Thanks, I removed 4 injector lines from the distributor, removed the three screws holding the distributor down, and then took out the 6 screws holding the top of the sensor in place. Good thing because I discovered the plastic insulators were shot and will need replacing but I was also able to repair the adjustment screw that someone had taken a pair of pliers to. Once I get those parts and new gaskets I should be okay.
