They vary quite abit depending on condition and the whim of the market. This summer I was trying to buy some and the cost for a good set was around 1600 to 2000 dollars depending on condition. Just take some pictures and put them on the parts for sale section at 2000 and see if you get any takers.

A pair just sold on ebay for $3300. The older Italian Webers are worth more than the newer ones that were made outside Italy. Look on the carb body and see if it says "made in Italy". I've seen them in the $1600-$2500 range depending on condition & mods. I would put them on ebay and advertise them on all the Porsche sites.

I saw that pair on Ebay. I need to go look at the ones on my race car and see where they were made!

Wow, I'm gonna check mine now too.

Any idea why the Italian ones are more expensive?

I believe as the production moved out of Italy the quality of the carbs went with it. I bought a "as new" pair about a year ago. Turns out they were made in the old " Carter carb factory" in Tennesse or Kentucky, not sure. Talk about lousy workmanship, I spent more than a few hundred dollars having Bieker Engineering go through them and get them to work properly, which I guess was pretty common. I would think the real Italian ones are going to be the first choice for the vintage guys. How much of a premium over the other ones is hard to tell.
Parts for the 46's are getting very hard to find as the old stock is gone. Not sure what the situation with the 40's are.
