man, I wasn't even aware of that. I had my heads done by Henry Schmidt of Supertec. I told him I was using DC20 cams. He suggested his set of racing springs and TI retainers.

Is there some type of test I can conduct to see if the springs are an issue?

I'm checking with Henry.
If I back off the rockers and the engine turns over much easier than its safe to assume the valve train is involved, yes?

Yes. Back off all of your rockers as much as possible and see if you can rotate the engine over easily. Pull all of the spark plugs when you do this then put them back in and compare.
I went through this with a customers engine a couple of years ago. When you are sure the engine doesn't have an internal problem, get a battery charger with a start boost function. Then try and crank it over. You need to be very careful that you don't over charge the battery when doing this. Try and start the engine for a little bit then cut back on your battery charger and wait a little then do it again.

Its RUNNING!!!!!
Cranking got better when I cleaned the positive line to the starter. After spinning it wouldn't start. I noticed fuel in one bank and not the other. Turned out I rewired the EFI incorrectly so fuel was only going to one bank. I fixed that and it fired up. Time to celebrate!!!

Thanks to everyone who provided help!
I've had a few and now its time to dream of engines that run instead of engines that don't - which I had been doing for 6 weeks.
