Favourite Rebuild Pictures
I now have about 1000 KM on my rebuilt 3.2, and it is dry, there are no weird noises, and it runs great. I am waiting for some dyno time to do a A/F check before winter sets in.
I was looking through my photo archive of the project, and these are my favourite shots: Ready to go back in: ![]() ![]() And my assistants: ![]() ![]()

I like the valve cover/gasket combination, understated and sophisticated. Are those the silicone gaskets, I remember them being red.

Okay, I'll bite. Here's the absolutely gory before photo (water in the case rotted the oil pump at only 24k miles):
![]() And here's the box stock, '93 3.6, back in the car after a rebuild by a first timer! The engine now has nearly 4000 trouble free miles and only a small dribble of an oil leak from a valve cover (another leak just stopped after a couple 1000 miles). It isn't as pretty or colorful as most of the above, but I'm as happy as can be. Thanks Pelicans everywhere! ![]() |
