oil circulation

1st time owner of a 6 cyl. 2 liter in 914-6. Recently overfilled the oil, then drained some out. The oil that drained out was Black. The oil had been changed not 2000 miles ago. Additionally, the oil in the tank is clean. Anybody understand this?

Engine has 87K miles on it.

Thanks

What is your theory? You have different oil in the tank than in the bottom of the engine?

Most likely you just are looking at different thickness of film and different backgrounds.
