Weber rebuild:: gasket adhesive

 I am rebuilding a pair of 40 IDA 3C carburetors. What adhesive is normally used on the gaskets ---- hardening, non-hardening? Wayne's 101 Projects book does not cover this. Thanks, Rick

 No sealant on the Weber carbs - too much of a risk plugging small fuel channels. - The copper / aluminum gaskets are sealing rings and do just fine on their own - The top gasket compresses enough to prevent leaking and should not be in constant contact with fuel - Accelerator pump on side I think uses a rubber / plastic gasket - again, no sealant. That explains why I could not find any reference to which sealant to use. Thanks a heap, Andrew! Best, Rick
