would my car be faster/handle better if...
i ditched my 17" aftermarket turbo twist chrome rims with 215s in the front and 255s in the back and replaced them with the OE Fuchs? some people have said i'd get quicker acceleration...
I kinda like the look it has now...folks are always thinking its newer than it really is. but i wanna get the best performance out of the car...i feel like the car has excessive body roll even after new struts and bushings so im thinking that might have something to do with the wide wheels up front, but im not quite sure. so has anyone made such a change and noticed a big difference?? here's a pic of the car... ![]() |

If you put wheels/tires with a smaller outside diameter then you'll lower your gear ratio which will improve your acceleration. The effect is not dramatic and you'll change your speedometer/odometer calibration.

Less brakes, more gas!

If you really want some performance wheel then after market turbo twists are probably not them... look for a forged wheel either multi piece or one piece like the Fuchs.
However, I suspect that wheels are not your problem. Excessive body roll can be addressed with sway bars, torsion bars, and other suspension components... not wheels. New struts and bushings were just the start ![]() Probably would be best to move this post to 911 Tech forum for better responses... Best regards, Michael

Body roll can't be addressed by your wheels.
Those aftermarket wheels ARE heavy and lighter ones will give you a performance advantage in suspension movement, etc.. However going to 16" fuchs will give you more sidewall potentially and less response. For body roll issues, start with using higher spring rates and matching struts. Fine tune with better sway bars...
