Non-Destructiv Injector Shroud Removal?
How can I remove these from the intake pipes without destroying them?? I need to clean these... obviously ;)

Tap them out with a valve guide stepped punch.
They are available and inexpensive if you happen to break one. |
There is an o-ring that goes around the outside of the sleeve in addition to the one inside the sleeve (or around the FI). Might want to replace both of them

Seems easy enough. I pushed on a couple of them and they didn't budge so I figured I'd ask. I don't have a valve guide drift, can I make one out of a wood dowel? or threaded rod and washers?
Also, it looks like I was getting a lot of blow back through the exhaust valves... would this be normal conditions for an intake pipe ('82 ROW SC w/~90k miles)?? Best regards, Michael |
