2.4S out of a 2.2S - ??'s

I am building a 2.4T short block into a 2.4S using a good 2.2S top end. Pistons,Cylinders,Heads,Cams and MFI system from a 2.2S will be used. I know the pistons, cylinders, heads and cams can be used with appropriate checking for clearances, but will the MFI system be adequate? And can I use my 2.2S mechanical advance distributer (I believe the 2.4 used a vacuum advance)?

Primary reason for using these is that both the MFI system and the distributer are recent rebuilds, and I don't want to go through the pain of trying to find the 2.4 stuff in the same condition as the stuff I already have if it isn't completely necessary. When I think of what it would cost for a freshly rebuilt 2.4S mfi setup

Thanks for your help!

Hello, Kevin.

It may well work, IMHO.

But you are throwing very big money at this: it will be much much better, and cheaper to sell the 2.2 s, and buy the bits to build the 2.4.

The dizzy will not fit, BTW..wrong size hole!

The best bang for buck will be to buy a set of decent pistons, a pair of mod-s cams, and webers..the 2.4 t dizzy can be cheaply modded..

You should really fit the bigger oil pump, and do the oiling mod.

Kind regards
David
