I hope this is not a bad one. I had to take out the small pin/screw that is in the flywheel that triggers the sensor for the crank position. It's the one on the outer edge of the flywheel. It sticks up about 1/4". I went to screw it back in and it snapped. I could not get the threaded part out so I stuck the head back in with some JB weld. I mounded it up on all sides. What do you think will it hold and will it trigger? I'm not to sure on how to test it.
Thanks Rick |

It might hold. It's up to you to decide if it's worth the risk. How good are you at removing the engine? A set of reverse drills would help get the broken part out or make room for an easyout.

I'm not to worried about it holding. If it does let go I can drop the engine (took about three hour last time). I am more worried that I placed the JB weld all around and almost to the top of the pin, will it still trigger the sensor?

7000 rpms. I can't see it holding, but that's just a guess.
If it were me, I'd try it, but then it would back out and ruin the sensor and I'd be replacing two things, not one. ![]() |

Try not, Do or Do not

Fix it right, get the pin out and install a new one or get a used flywheel.
I have one. It may hold for awhile but what a drag if it lets go on your way to the prom. ![]()
