I've heard too many stories of web-cam failures on hard welded regrinds to consider them. Search Pelican for more...

WebCam doesn't give free, daily advice on this board like John does. I'm not even a customer yet, but when I get my cams reground, he is doing it. +1 more for John. Dion

I use John exclusively for my cams, but I too have heard good things about WEBCAMS as well. John does good work at good prices. Cheers

I sent John Dougherty my SC cams and had them ground to 964. I just put the motor SC motor back in with SSI's and a Monty and man, what a difference! Then John Walker here locally noticed I didn't have my linkage set up correctly and I didn't have full throttle and man, extra horsepower. Then, coincidentally I brought it back to John to check my ignition timing. Jeff Higgins was there and he discovered the distributor wasn't advancing at all. Popped the distributor cap and discovered my (damn) distributor was broken. So JW put in another distributor and bam, even more horsepower and much smoother. So yes, I would go with John D's regrind. I am verrrrry pleased with the huge increase in power and torque.

John did mine a few years ago and I think it was $375. Did a good job, and when I was checking webcams (who I hear also does good work) was something like $500 for the same thing. I probably would have used John if they were the same price due to his participation on this board, but the price difference really made it a "no-brainer".

Back to the original post: Your signature says 74 3.0 and your post stock 2.7 cis cams. A 964 grind won't work in a 2.7 unless you change pistons (that's what camgrinder told me anyway). They do work in a 3.0 but the 2.7 cams don't fit in a 3.0 (3 vs. 4 bearings).

I'm running on John's 964 grind on my 80' SC, it's amazing, he did my rockers as well. He has fast turnaround, and great communication. My cams were completely shot, looked like wormwood, but came back looking like brand new.
