Max Mortiz pistons 3.0 - 3.2

Does anyone know anything about Max Mortiz pistons. The pistons take a 3.0 tp 3.2 but I'm not sure what compression ratio
does anyone know?

They are 9.3 to 1. I have a unused set, ceramic coated.

what type of cam can I use with these DC 40, DC 60 ?

what sor of config are you running? and HP?

Matt,

I did not use the Max Moritz due to a change in build plans so I dont have any data for you. I switched to MFI so went with a MFI p&c from Andial. I still have the MM p&c on the shelf.

Can you use MFI with these I read that they can't take too agressive cam shaft

boba 04-17-2007 05:41 PM

Not the optimum for MFI, that is why I changed, plus a bump in CR. CIS will not take much overlap.

Bruce Andersen states that with the MM pistons a GE40 or an S cam will give significant power increase used with webers.

Now I have DC60 and MFI, because of the overlap on S cams or modified S in my case Bruce reckons that Additional valve clearance is required, does he mean machining the pistons to get the required valve clearance?

that must be a typo! 270-300hp is more likely.

Look at the graph in bruce anderson's book 911 performance

370hp

were both wrong, on page 152 the chart shows about 330hp, 260lb/ft. the pic below is of my mahle 98mm piston/cylinders. the top is a dome type for carbs or mfi, the CR is 9.5:1. the valve pockets were plenty deep for DC62 cams, i'm sure a GE80 would work also. hope this helps. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1179357004.jpg

These are the Mahle 98mm 10.3:1 for MFI.

What was the part number for these 9.5:1's? What heads are you using? Thanks in advance.
