Early alu case; notch in fan support?
Hi all;
Pictured is a 1965 2.0 alu case, machined for a high hp application. Can anyone comment as to why a notch has been taken out of the fan support area? Could this be helpful/detrimental in any regard? Many thanks in advance!

The notch was put there to accommodate a twin plug distributor.
Some early twin plug distributor conversions were build without considering clearance issues. Be it very close, our 2.0 twin plug distributor fits with no issues what so ever.

Yup - I have a twinplug distributor from Supertec and it fits with little room to spare - I could see where some other versions may interfere with the support.
