Unhappy Air Delectors

Following the directions in the Haynes manual. I did not install the air delectors and now have the cam covers and rockers installed. Do I really need the air dlectors and if so is there a way to install them now that the oil return tubes are in place? Is there a mod to connect the front and back air deflectors and cover the whole side? Suggestions?

Supertec has 906 style air deflectors that can be installed any time during the assembly process.
They have better cooling properties and are reasonably price.

Please check with our host Pelican Parts to see if you can purchase these items direct from them.

As always, we aim to help but would not wish to intrude on the sale of any item, part or information offered by our generous host.

Your only other choice is to either remove the heads again (they can be removed as a set of 3 and keep the cam towers attached), or to put in the collapsable oil return tubes. Running without air deflectors is not an option.
