cam timing one side should I use spec other side.

Took off cam tower one bank 911. Cams are Elgin, lost timing spec years ago. I know I can call Elgin and get specs question, should I use the other cam as reference and time off that. My reasoning is I would know exactly what I have and match it to side on reinstalling.

If you can call Elgin, you should. Just because the other cam is in a certain position doesn't mean it's right.

Good point John. I originally installed them, that should have been a BIG red flag right there. CG, Elgin # 310/296.

Need help Mr. Doughherty.

Per you suggestion I checked 4-6 cam and measured 0.2650" TDC overlap. You said time 6.2MM which is 0.2441" Would you consider this to be acceptable and time the 1-3 side I pulled to 0.2650 to match or do I need pull apart and retime 3-6 to 0.2441/6.2MM. Thank you.

I would set them both at 6.2 mm. .265" is too far advanced.
