what was the original head bolt setup on a 1977 2.7 7R case. 12 piece 911 101 172 00 upper studs 12 piece 930 101 170 00 lower divilar studs Who can confirm this data out of the PET. Regards bob |

2.7's (and prior) all had plain steel studs, top & bottom. Its a VERY durable setup as long as the case has been properly prepared and you keep strict control of oil temperatures

According to Bruce Anderson's 911 performance handbook the 77 engines had dilivar lower studs. This was the first year for these.

HI use a magnet on the studs , steel yes, dilivar no, after market no/maybe.
