930 oil pump fit in a sc case?
This might be a stupid question. I did some searching and didn't find the answer. Will a 930 oil pump fit in a 78sc case? Would I need a different oil pump drive shaft since the pump is longer.

The 930 turbo pump requires a short drive shaft.

So, Henry I just finished my first rebuild and i enjoyed the process immensely. The down side is that there are a lot of things I think I would be able to do better the second time around. My plan is to drive the piss out of my car now (which is easy since it's so fun to drive) and spend the next several years accumulating the parts necessary for the next go around. I am still trying to figure out how I want to build up my engine the next time around.
At what point in the extra oil flow from a turbo pump worthwhile, conversely when is it overkill? I would like to build up a twin plug 3.4 with 10.5 to 1 compression and an aggressive cam using my 3.0l case, a 3.2 crank (my crank had to have it's rod journals reground and i don't plan on using it again), the 98mm juggs I bought from you, and my 226mm fan. I know my current oil pump is a little tired and I have my doubts about my decision to reuse it. Would and engine like the one I describe need a turbo oil pump or would a carrera pump do just fine? Thanks |
