1970 911T engine serial number
Hi,
I have a 1970 911T Targa that needs an engine rebuild. I want to verify what the engine really is before I start the rebuild. I have the "Red Book" in my hand and my engine serial number does not match anything in the book. The number that I see on the bottom of the engine case is: 901.101.102.2R. The serial number on my fan housing is: 901.106.101.5R . According to the red book, engine serial numbers have 6 digits only, so I am stumped Maybe it is not the serial number of the engine but the serial number of the case that I'm looking at? Thanks:confused: |
You need to look on the passenger's side of the engine near the bottom of the fan housing. You'll see a vertical part of the case casting with the number stamped into it.
My 1970 911T has engine number 6105243 in it |
