2.4 vs. 2.7 crank shaft
Can anyone help me understand what the differences are between a 2.4E and 2.7E crank shaft?
I have a 2.0l aluminum case that I am preparing for displacement increase. I have 2.4 P&C for the engine and I have 2.4S heads and cams. Is there a difference in stroke between these two crank shafts? Thanks all, |

All production 6-bolt 70.4mm cranks are the same.

They are both 70.4 stroke. You will also need rods for a 70.4mm crank, they are shorter and have a wider bearing saddle. The rod/stroke ratio is not as favorable as the 66mm crank.

Your crankcase may need to be clearanced so the bottom of the pistons doesn't hit the case. A good Porsche machine shop can confirm this and do the work. My machinist is Ted Robinson at German Precision (408) 747-0728.
