Rod Bolt Loktite
Why do the original rod bolts use loktite while aftermarket ones dont? Is there something inherent with the original stretch bolts that makes them more prone/likely to come lose than ARP and the like or is it just belt and braces approch by porsche?

The ARP rod bolts are a higher quality of material. This allows for higher torque values and less likelihood of loosening.
BTW: I don't think the factory suggests Loctite on rod bolts. We use Loctite on factory rod bolts in racing engines but not street engines when we are forced to use factory bolts. We also use a 12 point, serrated flange rod nuts on all 10 mm rod bolts in racing or street application.

You could use Castellated nuts and drill the bolts if you like overkill. I like Loctite, I like the no risk approach.

If you used anti-seize on the rod bolt threads, Loctite wouldn't serve any purpose. Threads must be clean and pristine for Loctite to have any effect. And if you did, the torque settings wouldn't be accurate (although I'm not sure how well Loctite acts as a thread lube).
