Jon, Without a proper place to run this motor to high rpm I would not use a ModS cam. it looks great on paper but you would not get to enjoy it potential.

I agree with John's statement about the compression ratio. Changing this will just shift the whole curve up or down according to the change in BMEP and therefore VE.

Bob, I did not pay complete attention to the build for your customer. If he just wants a street engine I would suggest a 964 cam. This will show a slight increase in low end torque and a nice bump at the high end as well. Its not as radical as a ModS/DC40 but more reasonable. The other great thing is piston clearance. You will need deep pockets (for the valves not just the wallet) to make them clear.

My build will spend a significant time at the track. i get tired of having little pull past apex when the rpms raise up. therefore I want a healthy bump in the top-end. I also don't want to spend the cash for an 8K rpm motor so the ModS is about as radical as I will currently go.
