Engine start after restoration
Can someone tell me how I should go about starting the engine after it has been sitting for a very long time. I have restored my 911T during the last couple of years and I'm almost ready to install the engine again.
I have replaced a lot of gaskets and seals but there is no oil in it. So after I have connected all of the oil lines etc and filled the tank with oil do I just crank it with the starter? How long will it take before the pump has fed all the bearings? Any ideas will be appreciated!! Thanks in advance! Hans |
Wayne's book tells you, but if I recall correcly, pull the lead off the dizzy and crank it to build oil pressure. Once the oil is through the system, you can fire it up.
