1973 Carrera RSR Rennsport M491
Hi all,
The 1973 Carrera RSR Rennsport - Carrera Model M491 2.8 Liter engine, was that a bored out version of the 1973 2.7 Carrera RS 2.7 Liter engine, same block? What were the bore and stroke figures on the 2.8. Thinking about doing a replica of the 2.8. Cheers CRS

92 x 70.4. A replica could be built on a 2,7 case and crank (as original) or on an SC case and crank (same stroke, you would need SMALLER cylinders than those that came on the SC)
"Block" is really a misnomer as you are describing the cylinder bore dimension.

The really hot ticket is to get yourself a 3.0 litre turbo case and start from there...finding one and then paying for it is the main sticking point.

Thanks, 92 mm. Yup I probably should have said 'case'.
Oh yes, one can dream of a 3.0.... seems the 2.7s are coming on the market a little more right now. Thanks again, cheers CRS
