1976 3.0 Euro carrera
Hello,
I have bought a complete engine (76 Euro 3.0) 930/02. ![]() The CIS system is not in good shape and some parts are missing. ![]() I do have a pair of nice 40 IDA Webers from another engine. My question is : Will these work in this engine or I have to go for 46s ? ![]() The engine is 100% stock.Do I need also to change my distributor ? Thank you! ![]() Jim

40s will be good for most purposes, you will probably want to have the timing curves optimized but it will work w/ the stock distributor.
46s might be ok for an allout race motor but not so good for street use

We have several racers using the 40's and they are great. They lack a few HP above 6000 RPM but only a little. Check your ignition timing at 6000RPM. You can use up to 30 degrees advance at 6000RPM with 91 octane or better. With a good exhaust system you could get 230-240 HP

good point about the octane, my C3 ran fine on unleaded regular, but when that disappeared i had to switch to premium unleaded, at that time it was 94 but I'm sure that was overkill, 91 or 92 sound about right
