What RPM is 10 psi registering? 10 psi warm idle is good.

Does sound a little low.

Proper oil pressure is 10+ psi per 1000 RPM. You should have 20 psi at 2000 RPM if your engine runs at about 180 degrees Farenheit at operating temperature.

Perhaps your engine mounted oil cooler has an internal failure?

What about the pressure and relief pistons? Can't they rob your engine of oil pressure if not operating properly?

I suppose they could be stuck open. If you do not update the pistons and springs to the later model, the engine will not build pressure.

Any chance that the intake pipe is loose? I just took my Turbo pump apart and gazed wonderingly at the fact that the intake from the engine is epoxied (and I imagine somewhat pressed) in....could be sucking some air?

The intake pipe can come into contact with the sump plate and get a seal around the opening. This could cause oil starvation.

very good questions.first thing i did was replace pressure relife and safty springs.both pistons look new and move freely in there bores.the sump would fill up if there was a problem with the pick up.i did find out the oil tank was converted for the turbo oil line and right where they drilled was the sump return line to the oil filter.you can quess what was also drilled.still the problems is on the pressure side when motor is cold i have 70 + psi as i reach 180 f it drops slowly to 5 psi raises to 20 psi at 3000 rpm my rockers show lack of oil due to the purple color on the tips.any ideas?thanks
