We are rebuilding a 2.7 911 engine, and since I am in Mexico and parts are hard to get, I had to buy one cylinder from a pelican member.
5 are the stock ones (they are all in good condition) and 1 is a Mahle, they are all group 5 and are all with the same specs. Does it matter if one of them is a different brand?? Thanks |

Mahle made both Nikasil and Alusil cylinders for the 2.7 engines. KS was the other cylinder manufacturer and they made only Alusil cylinders. The same is true for the 2.7 pistons. Mahle made both Nikasil and Alusil and KS made only Alusil pistons. Alusil pistons must be used with Alusil cylinders and Nikasil cylinders with Nikasil pistons. If you have a mis-match, email me and I can probably help to provide either a piston or cylinder (or both) to complete your set.
