Tom, You posted info on Mahle piston types in 3.0 SC motors back in 2008.
I want to thank you for clearing up confusion on different CR pistons by part number. There is a great deal of 'internet info' that is conflicting and misleading, the SC pistons are no different.

I have a 79 Euro SC motor , building it to go into a 914 GT clone. I am in the process of deciding engine details, CR/ carb size/etc. I have the oem 8.5 CR pistons and they are very nice. I'm not using CIS, have Blitz Racing Mega Squirt conversion, or may just spend $$ and buy a set of PMOs.
I planned and built many engines, never a 911 before, still weighing advantages/disadvantages of CR being 8.5 vs 9.8.
    Any help/guidance appreciated.

    Thanks for hard facts.

Can you send pics of what you have for the washer reservoir? My car is sitting on 17" wheels, so I think I have to find the washer reservoir in the trunk, i.e. "intensive washer" reservoir. That is probably why they removed the fender mounted one.
