top end rebuild, specialist tools
Planning a top end rebuild soon.
I have most of the tools/equipment needed for a engine rebuild but what special tools/equipment will i require on my 3.2 and where is the best place to source parts and tools from. Got a lot of reading up to do yet. Any advise, hints/tips, web links appreciated ![]() |

Off the top of my head, after mine a year ago:
Engine stand adapter to fit Porsche flat 6 Cam holding tool for camshaft removal/ cam timing adjustment Z block and dial indicator for cam timing Propane torch to heat all the rusted studs, nuts from the exhaust manifolds and cylinder head barrel nuts A sacrificial set of easy-outs for the barrel nuts you will strip trying to remove Copy of How to Rebuild and Modify Porsche 911 Engines- available here at Pelican This is assuming you are farming out the machine work... Good Luck!
