Which Engine Tin Bolts?

In preparation for reassembly of my 1991 turbo engine, I noticed that there are two different types of OEM 6 x 12mm engine tin bolts with included washers:

1. One set of bolts is head stamped KAMAX.

2. One set of bolts that is head stamped BOESNER and seems to have the threads squeezed into a triangular pattern in order to provide a retention mechanism.

My question is - which bolts go where? I would think one type for use in aluminum in the engine and one for steel in the tins.

I think the replacement bolts sold by Pelican do not have the OEM head stamp, but if they are different specifications, there should be different part numbers. I just can't tell which is which.

Does anyone have the P/N's for each type?

Thanks,
Mark

The BOESNER headmark is a patented triple locking screw. Part number is

999 143 004 08

Pelican sells them for $2.25 each. That is the price of the patent.

Download the legal version of PET and look at illustration 105-07, you will see which are locking and which are conventional 999 075 039 02. These probably are the ones with the headmark KAMAX. I would show you this except PET cannot be copied. Anyway you want the page with the engine tin on it.

Good luck!

Mystery solved! I found the illustrations on PET pages 105-07 and 105-12.

I could not have done it without your reference to the part numbers, nice work.

Thanks,
Mark
