Hi Andy, Sounds like a fun engine. Checking line-bore with your old bearings might not give you the correct answer. Your old bearing have been worn in on the misaligned bearing bores and lets the crank turn free. New bearings might show a different story. I would hate to see you have problems during assembly. The mains looked good on my 7R case also but I had Walt at CE surface the case half's flat and then re line-bore standard. A little more work but now it's straight down the middle.

When you bore the case mains you also need to do the layshaft bore and alignment and rear seal area:

Thanks mike, two 4.5 mm drills and if I can remember how to read a micrometer all wiil be well ( Joke)

Good advice to ensure all relevant bores are machined, thanks.

What does the book say about when the intermediate shaft is a "1"? I can't see the measurement from the photo.
