Cam tower plug, spray bar

I'm trying to pull the cam tower spray bar plugs. I have one drilled and tapped for a 6mm bolt. Using large washers on the bottom and smaller ones on top I have the 6mm bolt through the washers and screwed into the threaded hole then tightened down a nut on the bolt to the washers. Tightening the nut the plug doesn't seem to want to move, should I use heat? I'm being careful here so I don't strip the thread I've made.

plug

Thats the method I use, some are tough, but never had to use heat though, has it pulled the tapped threads? if not keep pulling

Well I moved on to the next tower and it came right out, although the plug left some burs and the spray bar was a sob to get out, plus put a real nice scrape mark on the spray bar. I will apply more pressure to the first towers plug. I see the host is showing the spray bar as NLA.

Got the first towers plug out, and I have another tower thats a bit biffed up so I scavenged a spray bar from it.

I see from searching that some are using 1/8" threaded pipe plug instead of the factory press fit plug. Any down side to this?
