bosch distrbutor interchangeability.....
Hi,
Does anyone know or has experience with using different distributor types for the same engine type? I have a '71 2.2T and have replaced the Magnetti Marelli with a bosch 231 159 006 (2.2 E) distributor. I have heared this one should be interchangeable with the 008 (2.2T) distributor. Are their any issues with using this distributor. the 006, on a T? Thanks for your advise! |

Both will run the engine well, you have nothing to compare to except the Marelli and all the Bosch parts are not Italian gold in value.
Enjoy the ride Bruce |

The advance curves are different, search here for the graphs. Search under my name and "comparative advance"

Thanks John! Can't find the thread you talked about. Do you have a link?
What type of effect will that different advance curve have on the performace of the engine? In other words, do I need to source another distributor? |
