From what I've read, the 3.4 and 3.5 liter displacement bumps are the standard upgrades. I think the 3.5 uses 100mm pistons which require case mods and new cylinders. You could be in the upper 200's hp ballpark if you twin plug and set it up right.

I'm looking for a 3.2 carrera now with this kind of upgrade in mind. There was a guy on the board who did this a few years back. He used to work at Andial. i don't remember the name off the top of my head. I think his car was a magazine with a 6 part/issue build article. I think he used SSI's and a Steve Wong Chip.

Byron, since you are in Fl, why not give JB Racing a call?

Call them, and speak with Mike Bruns

+1 - they also have some sleeved cylinders that are excellent.

I'm still trying to deside if I want to stay stock or build it up mildly, I'm waiting on some prices for the mods...

What has happened with the engine to scratch the cylinders like that?

Oil starvation is the best guess, as this is the 2nd engine to do this in this car:http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads14/BVD+s+3+21243822520.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1243822520.jpg

You might just as well go 10.5/1 then and twin plug them heads and toss in a splitter dude!

With a 3.6 crank or offset ground 3.2 crank w new rods and a set of Nikies a 3.2 can go all the way to become a 3.8 (3.75).
