vehicle inspection
i own a 1996 911 carrera and i am unable to pass inspection - the code i got is P1691 -i tried cleaning the intakes with seafoam to remove the carbon build up - but after driving the car for over 200+ miles the "check engine" light came on - any help to fix this problem appreciated.

Since your car is a '96 you have the OBD II system and probably have the check engine light due to the SAI (?) clogging problem. VERY common on the OBDII 993 model. You may want to check over on rennlist since they have an EXTENSIVE amount of data on this problem. Good Luck and stay around this site, it's about the best 911 site there is.

Code 1691 is dtc 165 (check eng). It is dtc ver2 code which is an interupption or no signal. Check with a pst2 because a freeze frame will be stored with the code. This is not a SAI code.
