cam nut torque
In Waynes book, a special off centre tool is used for removing the cam nut on 2.7 and earlier 911s.
Given it is off centre, the torqueing moment will be different too. Do you still use the book value to tighten this nut to spec? Thanks Alan |

100 ft# was the final spec. I like to pin punch 3 spots around the nut on the cam threads..just my preference
The threads can hold the moment difference of either measurment. The question is the first time in 30 years that there has been a concern of the inch or two difference in the crow foot Bruce |

OK, thanks, book value then. I just couldn't figure which way the value would be compromised. You have a couple of inches lever moment with the off centre, but then you are also twisting around a point 2 inches off the true fulcrum. I was getting myself confused trying to figure it.
