Question 3.2 into a 75 Targa...question

the 2.7 relay board is out & the harness has been redone/spliced/rewrapped so the big plug is on the "rear" (closest to the front of the car) of the Carrera relay board...BUT, only 2 of the 75 boards mounts line up with the 87's board...(as you face it) the top right & left are a match, the lower right is a bit over an inch to the left of the 75 mount.....also, the 3 'through the wall' bolts/nuts that held the 75's filter/fuel accumulator are now of no use.
MY QUESTION...has anyone figured a nice way to mount the coil ???custom bracket is my guess....anyone have a pic of their coil setup???
MY NEXT QUESTION...I've put in the Carrera metal fuel lines using the factory tab/plastic holder set up that used to hold the plastic 2.7 fuel lines...& the 75's fuel pump is long gone to allow the DME harness to go where it should....HOW has anyone out there connected the Carrera metal fuel lines to the 2.7's fuel lines at the back of the tunnel (by the shift coupler)???
LAST QUESTION...I'm planning to mount the Carrera fuel pump up on the steering rack like it should be...will this be as straight forward as I'm hoping it will be, after all, the 76 912E's fuel pump is there...hope the 75 &76 are the same.

THANKS, to anyone that can help with this
I'm all ears...

I'm putting a 3.2 into my 77. I just used the original relay panel , by just removing the items not needed. I mounted the coil on the panel where the ignition unit was. the fuel filter is mounted with a bracket to where the three rubber mounts are in front of the panel. Here is a picture borrowed from another post

Thanks BigSid.....
I am thinking of using the "unused" lower right mount from the '75 board to mount the coil. The pic looks like the Carrera Metal fuel lines weren't used. I still have to figure out the issue listed above related to the fuel lines.....

I am using '74 style SSI's & the early double snouts off the fan housing....spent today getting all the rest of the tin buttoned up & installed a new "double wire" head temp sensor. I'm not planning on using the center top sensor..only the double one on the left side of the flywheel. ( top one was only for the dealer test equipment ).

Really looks like a motor now....next is the FI system...

It looks to me like you ve complicated to the enth degree a very basic install. You dont even need to jump out the tach wire because its fed from the front of the Carrera harness.

MOTOR IS IN !!!!!
Got her installed today with at bit of help from a friend. Previously I have faced down all the gremlins related to the circuit board....used the '87 one. the coil...fabed a mount from aluminum stock that used the existing '75 holes, looks great....used the 3.2 heated fan mount from the left rear of the intake manifold, to make a mount (using '75 existing holes) for the fuel filter, it is exactly the same diameter as the fan motor so you can use the same strap even....& looks "factory".
Ve at Parts Heaven has able to find some fuel lines (from a 928???) that had "male" ends that are the same thread as the "female" ends on the 3.2 metal fuel lines....these "male" ends are barbed & I was able to use clamps/rubber fuel line to attach them to the '75 lines at the "firewall" area (tail of trans.)....tight, secure & look almost "factory"...
Cutting the 915's case to allow for the DME sensors went great too. All that's left is finish installing the "new" tach & hook up the rest of the DME harness....AND install the 3.2 fuel pump by the tank.
MAN, the 3.2 is a beautiful sight sitting under the decklid

Greg

Sounds great! Mine is almost in as well. Would it be possible to get a pic of how you mounted the fuel pump?

Cheers
